On behalf of everyone at Campbell County Water Rescue, welcome to our site. I hope you enjoy your visit and learn more about our passion to help others. I also welcome you to learn more about Campbell County and the rich history surrounding the Ohio and Licking Rivers. Northern Kentucky and downtown Cincinnati border the Ohio River, and offer scenic views and much fun for the boating community. We are honored to serve this great community.

Campbell County Water Rescue was formed in January of 1970. Then, the team was strictly an underwater recovery team formed by police and firemen. Because of limited equipment and budget constraints, the team was stationed at a number of local fire departments, where both the vehicles and boats were stored outdoors. It was not until the late 1980s that the team acquired a place of our own in which our equipment could be stored away from the weather.

Today, Campbell County Water Rescue (Station 19) is an independent an all-volunteer dive and rescue team. We provide a wide array of services including dive rescue, underwater recovery, ice rescue, swift water rescue and river patrols. In 2007, we were called upon 61 times to respond to situations ranging from boat tows to drowning incidents. In 2008, we’ve been called upon 3 times.

Presently, our team is eighteen volunteers strong. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of those who use the waterways or inland waters within our reach, and providing the very best of services through professional development, consistent education, practical training, and critical evaluation of our performance.

Now that Spring is here and Summer is not too far away, whether you are a pleasure boater, fisherman or a water enthusiast, I ask you to please take the proper safety measures to keep you and your family safe. Simple precautions can make the difference. Wear a life jacket. Boat Sober. Observe children closely. Use good judgment.

For now, it is very much spring in Northern Kentucky. Spring time brings often heavy rains. Heavy rains can cause rapid flooding to streams and low lying areas. Please do not drive through flooded streets or attempt to walk in rapid moving water. It may save your life.

Thank you again for visiting. If I, or anyone else on the Campbell County Water Rescue team can be of assistance to you, please contact me directly.
