Campbell County Water Rescue, Inc. formed in January of 1970. At that time, area residents and local volunteer firemen, along with police officials, felt that a local emergency diving unit was needed in Campbell County. In 1970, the dive team was strictly underwater recovery leveraging scuba as the primary means of locating evidence, drowning victims and submerged vehicles. Today, Campbell County Water Rescue, Inc., remains an all-volunteer dive team offering an array of services, including dive rescue, underwater recovery, ice rescue, swift-water rescue and river patrols.

In 2007, our unit respoonded to 61 emergency responses ranging from drowning victims to emergency boat tows for disabled vessels. Our unit is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at a moment's notice. Our vessels patrol the Ohio River, which stretches 46 nautical miles along the banks of Campbell and Bracken Counties.

Our team is non-profit and is funded by the Fiscal Court of Campbell County as well as fundraising events. Our motto continues to remind us every day of our commitment to the residents and the boating community of Northern Kentucky.
